A day dedicated to raising awareness and discussing the recent Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry
The Department of Computer Science, Systems Engineering and Communication and the School of Science, together with the ReGAInS Project of Excellence, are organising a day dedicated to raising awareness and discussing the recent Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry, which have highlighted a strong link with artificial intelligence. During the event, we will explore how these discoveries are pushing the boundaries of science thanks to artificial intelligence. AI, now a powerful driving force accelerating the advancement of knowledge and technology across various scientific fields, highlights the strong link between computational science and human progress.
Where do modern neural networks come from? How have tools such as AlphaFold changed the study of biology? How can artificial intelligence transform the future of science and society? These are some of the questions we will seek to answer over the course of the day. During the workshop, we will explore in depth how these innovations are revolutionising biology, chemistry, physics, computer science and research in general, opening up new perspectives and accelerating scientific progress across a wide range of fields.
The event will feature leading experts in the field, including Pietro Liò from the University of Cambridge and Danilo Pau from STMicroelectronics, who will share their knowledge and insights on these cutting-edge topics.
This event offers a forum for scientific exploration for all students and the wider academic community, stimulating discussion on the new frontiers of science and technological progress.
